THE OLDEST PERSON IN MY FAMILY

The oldest person in my family is my grandmother, Rosa. She is the mother of my mother and she lives in Barcelona with my aunt Rosa because both are widows.

She is eighty two years old, but she only has diabetes and arthrosys.

She was born in Guissona in 1926. But when she was 2 years old, the life in Spain was wrong and her father found work in Elne (France), so her family moved to Elne, a village near of Perpignan.

She lived there during eighteen years. She studied there and she had there all her life, but they had to return to Spain because her brother had to do the military service.

They established in Barcelona and she found work here, but she went to Elne for holidays for take care of an aunt.

She met my grandfather in the train, one day when she was returning from Elne. She was travelling with her mother, who began to talk with my grandfather during the way, while my grandmother was angry because she wanted to stay in France for some more days. When they were arriving to the station, the train passed by the neighboor where they lived and her mother shows my grandfather where they were living and one day my grandfather went to their door to see my grandmother.

At the beginning, she didn’t like my grandfather because he lived in Lleida and he had very dark skin. But my grandfather get inspire love to her.

Finally they got married and they went to live to Lleida during one year, but then they return to Barcelona and rented a flat. They had got three daughters. One of them, my mother. She took care of her family while my grandfather worked as a carpenter.

In 1964, she bought a local bought and she opened a butcher shop where she worked until 1972 with my mother. Then she started working in the neighborhood’s market, in a seafood’s shop. She worked there until my grandfather became ill. He was diagnosed with cancer when he was 57 years. She took care of him until he died.

She was widowed when she was 61 years. She live alone since then and she spend her life traveling around the world.

She met a man with whom she had a special relationship, but she never re-married.

Two years ago my aunt got cancer and she went to live with her. My aunt is now fully recovered, but still lived together and occasionally they does some traveling together.

WRITTING ABOUT ME

I was born in 1978, 10th of May. I’m a bit on the plump side, my skin is rather clear and I have brown eyes and brown and not very long hair.
Pink is my favourite colour and I like plain and comfortable clothes. The truth is that I’m not very busybody. The shoes with a lot of heel are very pretty, but they aren’t for me. They are too much uncomfortable.
I’ve always though of myself as a loyal, honest, confidence, sincere y not very talkative person. I hope everybody give me the same I give them. Some times this thinking has caused me some disappointment because it takes all sorts.

I have strong personality and I’m a bit mule, but I’m quiet and I don’t make angry easily. From time to time, I like to be alone for thinking, reflecting and planning the future. I analyse a lot the possibilities and the consequences of my decisions before I take them. So, I hate people hurry me and it is so difficult I change my decision when I have already chosen.

I’m very methodical and predictable. I like to do the things practically and logically. Usually, I try not to be too much optimistic for avoid disappointments and frustrated illusions, but I’ve never though of myself as a pessimistic person. Simply, I like find the reality of all. I value a lot the stability. So, I also value a lot the money, although I’m not mean. I like keep some money for any setback or any whim.
I love the nature because it relax me. I spend my weekends walking on the mountain or visiting some rural villages.

MY PRESENTATION

This is the first exercise that our English teacher has asked us, so I will introduce myself.
I was born in Barcelona on May 10th, 1978. My mother and my father were 27 years old when I was born. I have got one brother and one sister. My brother is three years younger than me and my sister is two years younger than my brother.
We always have lived in Barcelona, but now my sister and I live in Sant Vicenç dels Horts.
I moved to Sant Vicenç dels Horts because my husband was from there and when we began to search a house for us his grandfathers offered us their house for an economical price. I had not alternative because the houses in Barcelona were very expensive.
And my sister came here because she is living with a friend of my husband who was from there too.
My mother, my father and my brother continue living in Barcelona, but not together. My parents are separated and my brother is living with his girlfriend in a rent flat.
The younger person in my family is my niece. When my sister was 22 years old, she had a daughter. Her name is Lucia and now she is 3 years old. She has beginning in school this year, but she hadn’t had any problem for going there because she went to nursery the last year.
I’m studying English because I’m working in International Department of a bank and because I think English is very important to travel. In my job I don’t speak English but I writing it a lot. The English that I knew is enough for my job, but I’m interesting to learn more vocabulary and expressions.
I am married for two years. In the honeymoon, we went to New Zealand and Moorea (French Polynesian Island). We were marvelled. These two destinations are very different, but two both offers impressive views.
This Holidays we have travelled to Brussels, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Brussels is a very important European city. The Grand Place is surrounded by very beautiful and old buildings. Rotterdam is a big and important European port, but the city doesn’t offer special buildings to see. The best visited city for us was Amsterdam. There are a lot of interesting buildings and a lot of canals. The Red Light District is great and I think that there isn’t a place similar around de world.
This next year I think that we won’t go abroad because we are planning to be parents and if I am pregnant I will not be able to travel by air. But that are plans only. I don’t know what the future. I will already tell you if I have news.

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE AS BLOGGER

I have just created this blog. I have never had a blog before.
I'm a Spanish and I'm studying English and my teacher has requested to open a blog for practice this language.
This night I'm not inspired for writting, so I will go to prepare the supper. My husband will arrive soon and he will be angry if the supper is not ready.
I hope to be able to write any interesting thing tomorrow.
